Paul Rutherford
Research Assistant Paul Rutherford has a computer science background and provides computing development and support to projects, including discrete choice modelling, economic modelling, and data management, manipulation and analysis.
Paul has a central role in Choice Experiment applications of the AERU and manages, develops and administers proprietary software designed specifically for conducting online Choice Experiments. He has been responsible for managing over thirty online surveys using international and domestic online research panels. Paul also has experience in spatial disaggregation of livestock data using GIS for a General Equilibrium model of global trade, and has been involved in developing models for effects of tobacco policy on consumer demand, modelling the financial relationships in Bio-Diesel production, valuing tourism in Selwyn, and developed a web front end for a Farm Carbon Calculator developed to help New Zealand farmers understand their carbon footprint.
